I'm just reading article in czech rock&pop magazine about recent Iggy's Pop concert in Slovakia, where is also one page about introducing members of The Stooges + their past/present activities with or without The Stooges. I've found this info: in occasion of recording soundrack to Velvet Goldmine movie Ron Asheton together with Thurston Moore, Mike Watt, Don Fleming and Mark Armem from Mudhoney made a Wylde Ratttz project, but recording was never released (they don't say if this was even recorded).
I've never heard anything about it. Did you? Do you know something about it? Thanks! |

steve shelley was in the wylde ratttz too. i think you could download about 5-6 songs from that site, other than the stooges cover that was on the velvet goldmine soundtrack. i don't remember really liking it though.

i have those 5 or 6 songs and really enjoyed them. I dont think they're up on that site anymore though. They do a great cover of the pretty things "rosayln", there are some kick ass songs likr "hot shot" and "takin lsd" and thurston sings a chilling ballad "Poison". I wish the project had resulted in a full lp.

Such a good band. Like one of the greatest super-groups to ever exist. that LSD song is one of my all time favorites.

The movie Velvet Goldmine is an excellent film. Although Ewan MacGregor is supposed to be playing a Iggy Pop/Lou Reed character he ends up looking more like Kurt Cobain. But overall an excellent film.

In the old days, I would have jumped at the chance to share this myself. In fact, at the old board, I did post the link to the site while it was still up & then I also shared this once at the old board after the site went down.
All I have is the songs from the webpage. It would be glorious to get them all. |

oh wow, how fortuitous. i was literally just listening to the velvet goldmine soundtrack (still am) and actually loaded up the sy board to do a search and see if anyone had archived the extra songs somewhere. i used to have a couple from the old wylde ratttz site, but lost 'em in a computer crash.
thanks muchly! |
