I bought a ticket within minutes of reading about it. I've never heard anything by any of the acts, but I've heard good things said about a number of them, and for that price it's worth the risk. If I hate anything I'm hearing, I can go off for a wander round Cambridge. Seems like a win-win situation to me.

An update just received from the organisers:
Palimpsest Festival is selling well, over 100 tickets have gone in advance with a week to go. Get them in advance to save £2.50 or by all means just turn up! There should be a 100 or so available on the day (bar an amazing ticket rush in the next week). We are very pleased to learn that Sunburned Hand of the Man will be joined by Chris Corsano. Jesus, Moloney/Corsano double drumming power, what more could one want? Directing Hand will feature Alex Neilson and guest performer Ben Reynolds on guitar. Of course thats not even mentioning the rest of the line up. No doubt more surprises along the way. Palimpsest Recordings will also be launching at the festival. This a record label inspired by the festival releasing mostly but not exclusively experimental/free/outsider music. We will have limited numbers of recordings from Haeti, Untitled & the Dead Rat Orchestra on the day of the festival. The releases look like 7"s but theyre not... They are being hand made this week so hopefully they will all be done. More releases on the way post Palimpsest. Harvest Time Records will be running a stall at this years festival. All stock is on sale. Plenty of really cheap records and cds on Drag City, Rough Trade, Fat Cat, Touch & Go, Kranky, Constellation and many others. Plus theres hard to find releases from Fonal, Lal Lal Lal, (K-RAA-K)3, Abduction, Sublime Frequencies, Sub Rosa, 267 Lattajjaa, Latitudes, Hapna, Boing Being, Eclipse and more. |
