discuss TLASILA, favorite records of theirs, favorite lineups, if youve seen them live, and why they rule so hard.
my favorite records of theirs are 'vedder vedder bedwetter', 'total harmony', and 'noon and eternity'. also, cool article on rat bastard from vice magazine: http://www.viceland.com/int/v15n5/ht...-noise-103.php

saw them a couple of months ago and thought it was a bit underwhelming, although to be fair, it was in a very minimal line-up.

well, to me, you cant go wrong with any of their stuff. but since youve heard noon and eternity, i would go for their older stuff. the wigmaker and vedder vedder bedwetter especially. i think these guys are one of the most insane bands/collectives ever. i mean, a band that has included tom smith, rat bastard, weasel walter, thurston, andrew wk, ben wolcott, don fleming, and a bunch others, how could you go wrong.
also, to live and shave in la 2, with rat, weasel, misty martinez, and nandor nevai, have made some good records too. check "kill misty" and "as desmond wilson". they describe themselves as "free glam", but dont let that affect your opinion. they are extreme as fuck and rule.

They describe themselves as ''free glam''. Can you describe ''free glam'' to me?

nope. glam thats free, good enough? anyways, they dont sound to me what id envision free glam to me.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/To_Live_and_Shave_in_L._A. the wikipedia article has a good description of their sound. they are really hard to describe though, and i suck at and hate describing sounds anyways. i just like listening. http://www.toliveandshaveinla.com/ (to live and shave in la website) http://nowave.pair.com/tlasila2/ (to live and shave in la 2 website)

I've heard this band a few times before already. What records do they say they are ''free glam'' on?

only to live and shave in la 2 does. to lvie and shave in la 2 is a completley different band formed by rat and weasel right before the 00's when the original to live and shave in la was having creative differences. then of course the orginal to live and shave in la re-formed, so now both bands exist as seperate, but ulti9mately related, entities.
check that link, for the to live and shave in la 2 website, then go under their 'mainfesto'. there you will see their 'free glam' aesthetic.
