I'm really starting to take to Guillermo Del Toro's sense of style. I'm watching the Devil's Backbone tonight.
I've been starting to think about how any sci-fi/fantasy movie that didn't live up to expectations would have been better if he would have done it. |

Yeah, he has a really good eye for "creature" design and how their images can be maximized. He reminds me of The Neverending Story.

Hellboy 2 was goofy but visually entertaining (I've heard the first one wasn't "as campy").
it did make me want to read the comic books though. |

the first one was campy too. it (hellboy) has a campy sense of humor along with it's demons and shit. good stuff.
pan's labyrinth scared me more than any "children's movie" has a right to.
