Everything needs batteries today, too many batteries. Nearly all kids toy have unnecessary batteries to power them some way. Intersting link, haven't batteries like these been around for a while now though?
Check this guy's battery out, half way through this 'youtube' video I'm affraid, well about two minutes in.
