Now, it's not the first time I start a thread about the band, but the first one was on the old board around two and a half years ago, and back then my postings were filled with stupid and horrible. So now we are going to have another go.
Cop Shoot Cop. If you don't like them, go shoot yourself. |

one of the fucking best bands ever. i was listening to them all night long at work tonight.
CONSUMER REVOLT is so amazing, but so is everything else. they are incredibly catchy yet incredibly noisy at the same time. so many great songs Pity The Bastard The Divorce Waiting For the Punchline Shine On Elizabeth All the clocks are broken i just love them so much. i enjoy the first two firewater albums a bit as well. don't forget phil puleo went on to drum for SWANS after CSC split. SWANS=best band ever, especially in their final incarnation. ive got some cool rarities, like the DIG DAT HOLE album, albini-produced from 1987, 3 radio sessions, a soundboard from 1991, and all the officially released rarities. so great. if you ever see any of their albums for sale, buy them. every album is great, though they progress chronologically from "noise" to more "pop" oriented rock. i also generally don't pay attention to lyrics in songs, but cop shoot cop lyrics have always held my mind. such a fan band to sing along to.

Wow, here's band that never gets mentioned much on here. I was going to start a thread about them and Helmet a while ago, but i had assumed that nobody cared much for them. White Noise and Ask Questions Later are both good records, but Release is just pap.

I actually saw them only one time with Helmet ages ago, and the soundman fucked up their sampler completely. Consequently, Helmet blew them out of the water (this was before the big MTV crossover phase for them.) |

Great band!
I'd love to get a copy of the 1989 live recording at CBGB's. Richard Kern has done some stuff with them too. X is Y (1990) Colour, Super-8 sound, 4 minutes. Featuring Tomoya, Jackie O, Linda Serby, Cassandra Stark and Cristina. Music by Cop Shoot Cop. Written, produced and directed by Kern. Room 429 (1993) Black and white, 16mm, 5 minutes. A rock video for Cop Shoot Cop. Written by CSC with Kern. Directed by Kern. Produced by Interscope Records. |

All I heard of them is Release.
As it's been said above, they had great lyrics (the Divorce). Their records are really really hard to find here now. |

I have a promo CD of Release, something I always mention whenever someone starts a topic about Cop Shoot Cop. I should search for some of their older stuff some time, by which I just mean I should pick them up for cheap from eBay sometime, as you nver really see them in the stores.
