The 2004 Bridge School benefit concert featured Sonic Youth, and Paul McCartney's set ended with an all-star rendition of Hey Jude.
http://hyperrust.org/Bridge/Bridge18.html That's the closest I can come, but it'd be a hell of a stretch to sell that as a Sonic Youth single. |

got it today. it's definitely a studio version, but i'm pretty sure it's not sonic youth. sounds like some guy "trying" to sound like lee & the music is what you would expect it to sound like if it were SY doing it. and the guy only charged me $4. for it including S&H. nothing else on it though, like it was home made. pretty sure it's not SY but it's not bad either. any thoughts?

I'd really like to get to the bottom of this:
1. Who is on the single? 2. Who put it together? 3. What was the point (I mean, who did they plan to dupe? One SY fan who stumbled upon this thing on the internet? It's a lot of work to get $4 bucks, no?) 4. Is SY aware of this thing? 5. Who let the dogs out? |

It's one of the few Beatles songs I can't stand.

I think you got duped, by the way. Sonic Youth never released a single like this. And what--no cover art? A sure give away right there.
