any body here ever see this movie? i read about it on wikipedia today for some research and it sounds pretty fucking kool, but i like those really gross movies... even if it's just for the sake of being vile. and i'm all for slaughtering animals... i hate those furry (and unfurry) fucks.

I saw it, they cut open a turtle, and shove a ball of mud with wooden sticks in it into a woman's vagina. Really nightmare-inducing for kids aged 3 to 20. The last part where a village rapes a white college chick repeatedly, before tearing her apart with their bare hands and eating her insides is pretty graphic, I would say. Yeah, it gets kind of squeamish...

You're welcome. On a side note, it has a sleazy 70s porn/horror cliche soundtrack going on, which I think might be a plus point for you...

I've seen some related films like Zombie Holocaust, Zombie Flesh Eaters Eaten Alive but not Cannibal Holocaust.
All pretty good, cheap horror films.

I own nearly 700 horror/B-Movies and have seen plenty more than that so I think I'm decently qualified in answering your question: this movie was pretty good; it sure as hell LOOKS good. And there are some cool scenes in it. Worth a watch. Hardly anything that special, mainly memorable for the vagina through the pole chick and the animal killings (note I said memorable, not exactly "cool).
If you want cool *cheap* horror films, check out Body Melt, Slime City, Basket Case, Brain Damage, Killing Spree, Night Train to Terror, Monster High, etc... don't forget all the quality troma cheapies.. |

Cannibal Holocaust is a classic.
You should check out Jörg Buttgereit's films if you're into that sort of stuff. Start of with either NEKRomantik, Der Todesking or Schramm. You won't be disappointed. |

Yep, this is a great film, although I'm not sure I liked it for the same reason as you!

Indeed. I haven't seen Schramm, but the other two are fantastic/extreme and well worth seeing. I have seen Cannibal Holocaust three times, which I think is probably enough to be set for life at this point. Once I saw it in a theater, and went mainly because I couldn't believe it was being shown. The animal stuff is the hardest stuff to watch (because it's real), but I will say that none of the sick behavior potrayed in the film qualifies as "gratuitous," as I believe it is all necessary to make the point of the film at the end. Definitely and important and influential movie, but like all of those early 70s extreme Italian brutality films, not remotely for the squeamish. |

I thought Irreversible was okay, I loved the strobe at the end.
I wasn't a huge fan of the Necromantic films, but I actually think Der Todesking is one of the best films I've ever seen -- it certainly accomplished its goal perfectly.. jesus. |
