The Beatles and Sonic Youth are complete equals to me, but I chose sonic youth because they are my ultra fave

Sonic Youth are infinitely more marginal, therefore their influence is closer to being benign. The only band to have only a positive influence on the world is the Shaggs.

beatles. both are great bands, but everyone from five-year-olds to 80-year-olds can enjoy the beatles. not so with sonic youth.

The Beatles, obviously. Sonic Youth have been influenced by them. The Beatles weren't influenced by SY though.
