Mostly it's the dumbass media who are at fault for perpetrating misuse of the King's English.
My current pet peeve, as explained elsewhere in this forum: troop. |

the King can eat my shitty shorts, and i'll piss on his face.
however, i hate the way that "graphic" has come to mean a) related to fucking b) related to bodily harm so you end up with stupidass newspaper phrases like "graphic images" -- well fuck aren't all newspaper images "graphic"? aghhhh... (in other words: pictures of people fucking are hence "graphic graphics" -- THAT'S RETARDED). |

Hell! I never knew "alot" wasn't a word. Thanks! I hate misuse of "ironic." I hate overuse (which is always misuse as well) of "random."

Yeah. I hate it when someone says "Say something random!". Well it isn't really random if you were told to say something random....
Also the word "literally". Someone said "I literally crapped my pants." He didn't really crap his pants, but he said "literally" anyway. |

I've said it a million times before (on this board alone) and I'll say it infinite more times... god dammit it pisses me off. All the kids that say shit like "I have a random sense of humour," or, "Yr so random," etc. FUCKIN' HELL, IT'S NOT RANDOM, ESPECIALLY SINCE IT WAS THOUGHT ABOUT CLOSELY TO GET THAT VERY REACTION.

YOUR instead of YOU'RE.
I see it all over kid's backpacks "Your so cool!" When people begin every sentence with "pretty sure.." Quote:
"Pretty sure your gay" = most. annoying. thing. ever. Random bugs me too. And they're/there/their + other misusings. When people are speaking and say "OH-EM-GEE!" |

This doesn't apply to words, but misunderstanding that the person is set to "away" in messenger. I often come back to my computer, only to find annoying people bitching at me because they think I'm there.
They are then ready to be blocked, and removed from the contact list.
