I adore a great, double IPA, not just the hops, but the extra sweetness of the malt and the full texture. Delicious fruity undertones from the ale yeasts and exceptional gravity. Some folks don't like it, so lets compete with the opposite, the Double Bock Lager. Its similar in color, flavor, and texture, but lacks that extra hopped bite of the IPA, and a lot of folks really prefer lager to ale which is why those Eastern Europeans developed it in the first place. Me, I dig ale.
What do you say? Recommend something better if you disagree entirely

Hops are an acquired taste, but once you learn to dig it, you realize that the hops are there to balance the super sweetness of the malt. THAT is where the real beer flavors are, the malt and the the yeast. If you were to sip pure beer malt it would pucker sour-sweet, hence adding hops (or a variety of bitter herbs which is why "spiced" ales became so popular, me, I dig hops)

left hand milk stout/nitro milk stout are both high on my list. actually i've never had something from left hand that i didn't like haha. samuel smith also makes alot of good shit; oatmeal stout, imperial stout, chocolate stout. as for porter flying dog gonzo imperial porter and great lakes edmund fitzgerald are both exceptional.
