The Band kicks ass. Self titled, Music FRom Big Pink and Stagefright are flawless. Way better than Dylan in my opinion. Anyone else a fan?

I have been wanting to get into this group for a long time, but I never knew where to start. Help me out, & I will definetly listen & give you my opinino. I'm sure it will be a great listen, whatever you suggest.

Yeah, I love The Band....but still prefer them with Bob.

If you guys like reading This Wheels on Fire by Levon Helm (the Bands' drummer) is pretty telling. Being upstate in New York around the time of Big Pink must of been a blast.

It documents the first electric tour (the one with excessive booing by ticket holders) until Levon couldn't handle it anymore. He reunites with Dylan shortly after the motorcycle accident and the era of Big Pink.
