I watched MTV pretty much straight from 1981-1991.
I saw the decline, the increasing reliance on shows instead of music videos. it was horrible. Remote Control, the game show, started it all.

Somewhere in my house I have 2 uncut hours of 1993 mtv video programming. Top 100 or something. I remember Meat Puppets backwater, Smashing Pumpkins Rocket, Toni Braxton, Domino, US3, Guns N Roses estranged
