So, I went to see Lytle and Burtch give a free show on the day that "Fambly Cat" came out...I had only heard a couple of Grandaddy tracks before and wasn't impressed. It sounded like fluffy pop. But it was free, and the band had broken up so I decided to go.
The friend I was with was a big fan. We sat on the stage next to them, it was really fun. I was impressed with the music, so I decided I'd buy some on payday...I picked up Sumday (used) and Fambly Cat today, and I'm really, really enjoying this...and looking forward to hearing more since apparently I haven't heard their best yet.

I don't mind them. They're the typical indie rock group, but there's something I like about them over most indie.
fuck the valey fudge

I would recommend Under the Western Freeway.
For some reason Go Progress Chrome is one of my favoritest songs ever. |

3: Jed the humanoid
Last night something pretty bad happened We lost a friend, all shocked and broken Shut down exploded Jeddy 3 is what we first called him Then it was Jed But Jed's system's dead Therefore so's Jed We assembled him in the kitchen Made out of this and Made out of that and Whatever was at hand When we finished Jed We were so proud We celebrated We congratulated At what we'd created Jed could run or walk sing or talk and Compile thoughts and Solve lots of problems We learned so much from him A couple years went by and something happened We gave Jed less attention We had new inventions We left for a convention Jed had found our booze and drank every drop He fizzled and popped He rattled and knocked And finally he just stopped ^that song always makes me so sad The line "I try to sing it funny like beck, but it's bringing me down" is one of my favourite lyrics AM 180 has one of the best keyboard lines ever FACT |

Yeah it's pretty cool. I actually got into them through that song on the 28 days later soundtrack.

i really like "the sophtware slump" and "sumday"... it's the only two albums i have from them; what i've heard from the other albums actually did not really convince me, but i should try again...
lytle's voice is lovely. |
