no college radio stations down there you can hook into? no doubt regular radio sucks ass but I can't do all the news that npr does. I did it for a while in my life then moved on to college radio when I had no cd player or cassette player or 8 track player ;^)

College radio >>>>> NPR.
I don't know about all NPR stations, but WYEP Pittsburgh acts pretty corporate, but just plays stuff to satisfy the older left wing types. DJs don't really have freedom, they pretty much tell them what to play, etc. |

That sucks. I am really surprised at the shit they play here. They seem to have something for everyone, even us.

NPR is not a station. It is a feed that public stations can use.
Houston has the oldest public radio station in the USA, KUHF, and they have NPR in the mornings and evenings. between those times they play classical music. Great stuff too. we got the digital radio where if you have the proper receiver you can tune in to news on KUHF2 when the clasical is playing at KUHF1, and vice versa

Iggy made a great point in that inerview "ive never felt a need to justify or explain myself", thats what every artist should be like, no compromises.
