They were absolutely brilliant, though utterly mad, as to be expected. They lost their iconic eyeball masks in favour of dressing up as rabbits instead, it was an eleborate rock-opera-type-thingy about a man with an unhealthy obsession with bunnies searching for his missing brother. It's really difficult to explain The Residents, let alone their live shows, but it was so great to see them, I thought I'd never get the oppertunity. I'll post some pictures soon if you'd like...

Of course you should post the pictures! I can't believe they changed their look. Very interesting.

Pictures will happen in the next few days I promise.
And they always change their look, they've never exclusively dressed in the eyeball masks. It's whatever suits their album/performance. |

You're a lucky one and I wish I saw them. They always had the best ideas / concepts for albums and shows. Unhealthy obsession with bunnies...I thought my fetish was unique.

I also took loads of black and white film photos, I need to get in the darkroom and develop them, I shall post them up too once I have.

Anyone ever see the footage from the 80's where they had the fish masks with the glowing eyes and the cowboy hats? The mouths were fully animatronic, it's truly a disturbing sight

I enjoyed them a lot, even though it was a total different performance than I'd expected, much more straight-forward. I hadn't realised that they were only going to perform work from The Bunny Boy.
Musically it was therefore less interesting (to me), but the overall performance was pretty great and the story very entertaining. |

I would love to seem them. In all honesty though, I really had no idea the Residents still did any shows, I thought they were pretty much a recording project at this point.
