It's not that bad. I've never heard anything like this before, it's just... interesting.

Listened to the full record on Lou Reeds website.
The album in general sounded better than just "The View", but it still sounds like shit. |

When i was listening to "The View" i couldnt help imagining it was about the American TV show of the same name. I.E. a bunch of old women making a ton of noise to no particular end.

Certainly nothing I could predict but there's nothing offensive about the tune - I bet Lou's wife told him to do it because it is pop art, as in popular...

Im quite fascinated by this, because i dont like Metallica at all and im not sold on Lou Reed very much either, i almost feel like this project is pitched specifically at me. "Hey, all our fans hate it, maybe that means its the album youve been waiting for!"

PUMPING BLOOD!!!! PUMPINGBLOOD!!!! PUMPINGBLOOD!!!! the old guys have got it...
I noticed Jenny Scheinman in the lineup - Violin, Viola & String Arrangements - she plays with Nels Cline a lot and had a regular gig in Brooklyn at I think Barbes this year... I'm liking this! Its got the heavy chunky guitars I always like, with Lou's vocals - streaming at http://www.loureedmetallica.com/listen-to-lulu.php http://gothamist.com/2011/11/02/lou_...threats_fr.php |

To me it isnīt even sound like shit. It is very very boring. Like the metal band that has just started and the members are big Metallica-fans. When theyīre listening their first demo, they realize itīs missing almost everything. Then their vocalist has a "great idea": "Letīs ask my 60-years old conservative dad do the vocals, although he never even heard metal music". |

I've only listened to the first half (85 minutes in one go is too much for me). I know it's not good, and I don't disagree with any of the reviews of it, but for some reason I still enjoyed it. Yes, I realise the songs could be reduced by about five minutes each, there is no chemistry whatsoever, the riffs aren't inspiring, Lou sounds bored and James sounds like an idiot when he does his vocals, but I still liked it.
The store I work at got about 200 copies of it in. In the five days since its release, not even ten copies have been sold.

It's not the worst record ever for sure. It's better than Animal Collective, for instance.

mettalica have been shit for years, and lou reed has been shit since the mid 70s, so yeah, no suprises in the uninspired sounds of this album (at not the view)
