Nothing weird about Boxing Day. It's when we give our servants their presents.

Silly Australians with their ridiculous time differences.
Oh wait, it's no longer boxing day here either. |

The Dutch are rather silly too. But in good taste.
I am spending new years tucked in watching Jools Holland like everybody else wishes they were doing. |

very silly indeed, but i just noticed we're not alone though In Austria, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Greece, Hungary, the Netherlands, Norway, Iceland, Poland, Slovakia, and Sweden, the 26th is known as the Second day of Christmas (der zweite Weihnachtsfeiertag in Germany; Δεύτερη μέρα των Χριστουγέννων in Greece; Annandag Jul in Sweden; Andre Juledag in Norway; Tweede Kerstdag in the Netherlands; Annar dagur jóla in Iceland; Tapaninpäivä (St. Stephen's Day) in Finland; Karácsony másnapja in Hungary) and is also a public holiday. ... so at least i can safely take shelter in the company of others. |

Only right I suppose; after all, what would we do without them? They're an absolute Godsend, one simply couldn't manage without them. A friend of mine tried living without servants for a day once and even attempted to cook his own food, the silly fool. It was a total disaster, as you can imagine, and as the doctors who treated him would testify.

I had to sack one of my servants yesterday. I caught him about to take a sip of the cooking sherry. Dashed awful scene.

It is a sad fact that one's serfs sometimes fail to realise how lucky they are to be lifted from their wretchedness and offered a chance to serve one. Ungrateful blighters.

My hounds were unhappy at being unable to hunt foxes this year, so I allowed them to savage the servant as a treat. I called them off before they severed any of his limbs though.

In a glaring oversight, the adminsitration for the court of Viscount Glice hired one of those coloured people this year. Funny thing was, he's a damned lovely chap. Can't understand a ruddy word of it, but he dances tremendously.
We did step up the security though. One can't let his sort run riot now, can one?

Picked up myself some Sonic Youth yesterday because it was 25% off everything! I got the Dirty Box Set finally, and The Destroyed Room, which I've both listened to once. I really like the song with Kim singing over the acoustic guitar, it sounds so different and I've only ever heard two acoustic Sonic Youth songs

Canada Day has to be the best, especially if you live in Ottawa. I always go to parliament hill and practically everyone's blazed and drunk. It's like a huge outdoor party with most of the city there and tonnes of tourists
