I think that all music can be spiritual to those of a spiritual bent. I do not think psychedelic/drone/meditational/new age has any specific corollary to spirituality

The music I heard when I used to attend mass was super lame.
Bach is lame as well. Gregorian chant are rather cool. |

I don't think so.
It's all about the sound and the current mood it emits, I guess. That might be also the reason why I avoid bands like Current 93 / Coil / NWW (not drone nor psychedelic, but you know what i mean), because of their spiritual/philosophical background.

Spirituality around here has been co-opted by the wave of born-again "worship" Christianity. My friend plays guitar in their contemporary rock church. He pretty much hates every music that I would describe as spiritual.
I think meditative drone stuff would make more sense for spirituality that is decidedly less contemporarily western. |
