Well, the movie comes out in selected theatres. As David Letterman would say, "Pray your city gets selected." Anyone go see this yet or planning to see regardless of the mixed reviews its been getting? I went from really looking forward to seeing this to thinking, maybe its not worth it, and well, there's better films out there to see right now, like "No Country for Old Men" and "American Gangster". I can careless about "Beowulf".

Southland Tales I'm really looking forward to, despite it being panned when it was first shown to movie critics.
If there are two actors I fucking hate it's Sean Penn and pissing Denzil Washington. A friend of mine went to see it and said "It's a film, it's got gangsters in it. What more do you want?" ...right. Wondering if the subtle knife turns out to be any good too.

I like what Manohla Dargis said in her NY Times review of SOUTHLAND TALES: I would rather watch a young filmmaker like Mr. Kelly reach beyond the obvious, push past his and the audience’s comfort zones, than follow the example of the Coens and elegantly art-direct yet one more murder for your viewing pleasure and mine.
