i love this band, specially this album, great riffs, great rock n'roll (nostalgia!!)...but what do you think about this garage-rock band from mid 60's, you think they were the first punk rock group?...and the garage rock nowdays is a great scene or sucks?

I like that moment in the early 60s where garage rock had a touch of the psychedelic (but psychedelic within the confines of 3-minute songs), maybe that's what people mean when they talk about 'flower punk' or whatever, like The Monks - who are on another level to the others, in my opinion - and The Seeds, whose first two albums are great, particularly the one with Mr Farmer on. And a lot of the groups on Nuggets though I’m not sure how many deserve to be mentioned on the basis of one song.

nah, pere ubu, electric eels, etc.. they were all of the more proto-punk, avant-rock type.
the best garage bands play an extremely simple and stripped down catchy rock that remais incredibly soulful. some of the best bands and records of all time have come from this genre. the flamin groovies, the gun club, flesh eaters, all some of the best bands ever.

I honestly believe that there are few more perfect sounds in music than the guitar intro on The Sonics' version of 'Louie Louie'.
