Sorry,i've edited my post and i'm typing from my bed.Well, ask most balck people if his ideals of equality(which are totally right,by the way) have emancipated them in this society that much more.We don't want to start making examples now or do we?Also, pacifists generally resort to the most simplistic political tactics and never get the job done like it should be done.

well we're certainly not in paradise, and i don't know how this operates within england's more rigid class sytem, but in the united states, while it's certainly no utopia, things have changed a lot since the 50's-60's. check out for example john cassavetes "shadows" and compare to present day life. interracial couples are now our daily bread. this wasn't so a few decades ago. the civil rights movement won important legislative victories which, while they did not eliminate racism, at least made it illegal. that's not 100% utopia, but it's made a huge difference in the everyday life of a lot of people who now have jobs, education, housing and political opportunities that were quite inaccessible 40 years ago. |
