Attach music device of choice to an amp, turn every distortion/overdrive/reverb/tone available up, choose a song, sit back and enjoy the static.

I saw the legendary MBV live back when. I think it was at Irving plaza. Unnecessarily loud tho, i have to say. They played this one tune with the same exact part for over 10 minutes! I think it was rather pretnetious sort of statement.

Saw them a long time ago. They were loud, but Dinosaur Jr was louder as I remember.

The loudest fucking thing that I've ever heard was Florian Hecker (mego rec.) last year. Some people left the venue in fright

Part of Kevin Shield's genius was his knowledge of noise and harmonics created by it. Play the chords to sometimes with your amp cranked and you'll see what I mean.

You need to get some sort of jack that is put in the headphone socket and the other side put into the input of the amp I think.
Did that make sense? Hah.

it's called a "smallifier" i believe.
take a guitar cable and put the smallifier over one end, hook that to the cd player. and then hook the other end to your amp. alternately, use a bigifier on a smaller cable and do everything vice-versa. |
