Even though it's not yet confirmed at the sonic calendar page, it seems like Text Of Light will be part of the line-up of this year's Festival de Mexico in Mexico City.
Confirmed acts according to this page: MELVINS / THE RESIDENTS / EVAN PARKER + CHRIS CORSANO + JOHN EDWARDS + JOHN RUSSELL / TEXT OF LIGHT MAJA RATKJE / EARTH / MARK DRESSER + REMI ÁLVAREZ ...KAN MIKAMI / AARON DILLOWAY / C SPENCER YEH / MATTIN / MANRICO MONTERO / GREGG KOWALSKY / GERMÁN BRINGAS JUAN JOSÉ RIVAS / MAURICIO VALDÉS Currently there are tickets available for Melvins & Earth on March 19, and The Residents on March 15. If i miss Text Of Light's gig, you all have my permission to kill me.

So far i have my ticket for Earth & Melvins. Haven't purchased one for The Residents, 'cause i don't have an idea yet of how much would the tickets cost for the other events. I'd like to get to all of those shows, but i'm gonna have to spend money on transportation and a (perhaps) seedy motel. I'm possibly gonna have to skip some performances if the costs are too high for me in the end.
Anyway, there's still some lack of information. All is a bit vague right now, but i've got plenty of hope that i'll be there.

I loved the show. Will try to post a description as accurate as i'm able to muster when time permits, hopefully soon.
Here are some pics stolen from Aural Festival's facebook page:

Hopefully some others pics will appear in some other places soon. There were raining flashes all over Lee. Against the nature of the show, some people in the audience were snapping shot after shot for most of the performance. Guess it hasn't ever crossed their minds that such ridiculous amount of flashes could be annoying for the musicians performing.

cool pictures. yeah the digital photo things is out of control, its not just annoying for the musicians but the audience. I like to take some shots but don't use the flash - my digital camera seems to send out some kind of red ray and even that I saw distract a player so I stopped. But then, I go to shows where the person behind me chomping on gum is a distraction. |
