vee vee is nearly perfect for listening in the car LOUD

the only one I do not like, because it deviated from their sound due to imminent break up, is white trash heroes.

They also have some choice ass EP's

I was never really into this band aside from a few singles (Web in Front, Harnessed in Slums, etc) but I decided to check out Icky Mettle the other day, and I'm really liking it. I don't know why I never bothered to really investigate them further a long time ago. Eh, better late than never I guess.

I don't get the Pearl Jam comparison.

Seriously, doubleyouteeeff?

Anyway, Icky Mettle was an old favorite of mine from my "Oh My God Slanted and Enchanted is The Greatest Thing Ever!!!" period. Now I don't really have any interest in them, after spending the past decade and a half uncovering much MUCH better bands from the same basic category.

I guess by that logic I should be bored by Pavement and GbV now too.... but I'm not. I'm just not in that "stuck-a-pin-in-yr-backbone" frame of mind anymore.

Icky Mettle is decent enough in a "We really like Pavement and Superchunk" sort of way, but I think they got to be really good with VS The Greatest Of All Time EP and ESPECIALLY Vee Vee. They went from a Pavement/Superchunk band to a Pavement/Polvo band, but if you're going to rip off bands those are pretty choice bands to rip off.
