I don't know if I'll be able to resist if I see great albums I'm waiting for three months before its release online, but I want to stop downloading leaks. I don't know, I always feel strange when I download something before it comes out, it's a kind of disrespect for the artist that wants you to hear it from a certain day on, no?
Do you download leaks? Do you feel disrespectful? |

I don't download leaks either. I agree with you. I think it is disrespectful to the artist and is stealing from them. There are a lot of people with a lot of different arguements saying why it's okay, but I feel when you come down to it, it just isn't right.

downloading leaks is gay. the only time i downloaded a leak was Rather Ripped, and what a painful experience that turned out to be.

Except for a few songs I have downloaded from iTunes, I don't download. It's because I need to have the CD. Other people at school don't understand. I suppose it's like those people who always buy vinyl.

Well there are bands for which I don't mind doing it and others for which I won't do it because I'll buy the record the day it's out (that's the case with The Notwist for instance).

i get leaks sent to me quite often, on a weekly basis really and yes i do download them. the most recent ones being the new spiritualized, portishead and nick cave (yeah i know its out now) and no i dont feel like cheating theartist as they send out hundreds of promo copies to radio stations, pr people and jouralists on a daily basis. i buy whatever i like, which is most of them as i wont download anything i dont like for the sake of it. out of the last 10 albums i downloaded prior to release, i bought 7 of them, 2 arent out yet! my only rule is i wont download any pre sy stuff, as i still enjoy that day of release feeling!

I never download leaks. I will download a song or two off of an album to test it and see what the flavor of the music is and whether I wold like to purchase the entire album.

i've downloaded a few, but i dont make it a habit like a few people i know.
so many music to listen to, why waste my time with leaks? i'd rather wait for a decent rip, makeup my mind, then buy the album. or not. |
