any favs?

yes, i'm sure you can make up your own mind about whether or not a movie is "good" or "bad," but it's fun to come across a writer who can weave a brilliant piece, provoke thought, make you laugh, etc. I'm really getting into Anthony Lane, who writes for the New Yorker and who is often more entertaining than the movies he reviews.

any others?

Me?

Kidding.

I like Peter Travers a little. Even when I disagree with him, it's still usually at the least an interesting read.

Same with Roger Ebert, who generally puts at least some thought into his reviews.

As a general rule though, I like to make up my own mind about films.

But by the same token, it is nice when a film I really love gets some recognition.
