o no kidding man, me and my dad were talkin about that, anton chigurhh was the most brutal psychopath i have seen in any film. that look, no remorse, his method of killing (cow killer), and that twisted moral code of his. super fucking scary.

three of the movies nominated for best picture were essentially westerns!

i actually agree with this, as much as i liked no country, i felt it wasn't their best work and something was missing, still a work of genius. o brother... is pretty awesome but more like a normal movie that's really really great, whether every second of the big lebowski is essential. -- rob: to tell you the truth, i saw it a long time ago and all i remember is calculon...i mean william h macy zombie around the whole time (which he always does). |

The big surprise of the night was when Marion Cotillard won for Best Actress. Other than that, I picked nearly every category. Oscars 2008: The nominees
Cotillard seemed genuinely shocked. She and Forrest Whitaker (having won last year) leaving the stage together provided a memorable moment. And during the Best Supporting actor category, for a second there I figured it was going to go to Hal Holbrook, but then Javier Bardem won it like I thought he should/would. |
