New Neil Young Concept Album...about eco-cars first listen

Let me start by saying i fucking love neil young, hes one of my favorite artists and i have tons of his records.His last few albums (Prairie Wind, Living With War, Chrome Dreams II) have been some of his best work in over a decade. I even got to see him play my hometown of worcester last month and it was fantastic. I later read that he was testing out material for his new album Fork In the Road on that tour and then remembered how at certain parts of the show were this unfamiliar songs that just sank the energy. Im afraid this is the new neil young album and i think it will join his pattern of patchy records after a few stunning albums.

yeah i like neil alot too, but that sounds pretty bad.

I think that song is pretty good man. I like guitars that sound like trains, and good riffs, and I like the way he croaqks it. I like this better than the greendale weepathon

I'm at the point where I don't care about if Neil's new album is terrible or not. I'm happy that he's happy with what he's doing. The Archives series is doing a great enough job in satiating my Neil fix in lieu of his mediocre/shitty (imo, anyway) output over the last decade.

I love that dirty 'trucker' riff, the chorus and those kind of throwaway lyrics:

'On the radio

bring 'em back'

The video... oh man... singing into a webcam, plugging his ear-phones into an apple, his TV being repossessed in the background, air-guitar. I'm hyped for this album.

Well, if you didn't like Fork In The Road - I have no idea what you're going to make of this. Personally I think it's ace.

Yeah, listening to a few of these new songs more, I'm really excited for this one. Even one of the more serious cuts like Light a Candle is sounding pretty damn good. I have positive expectations for this album.

I started to hate Neil Young ever since my friend made me watch Greendale.

Also my left wing aunt mixing in that "let's impeach the president" song into some mix CD she made.

Anyone else think the verse part of Cough up the bucks sounds like SY? I feel like thurston could do such a better version of it, add some more wildness to the mix.
