I saw them at T in the Park in 02, probably the least inspiring SY show I've ever caught (though still fairly good)
they hit the stage, Lee and Thurston in denim jackets, and Thurston introduced the band before they launched into a rousing version of Tom Violence. the audience seemed unfamiliar with the new Murray St material however and it was greeted with a lukewarm reception, such a different vibe to seeing them weeks before at the Manchester Academy which was positively life-affirming.. |

Once I my uncle (drum tech) borrowed the stool from my drum kit so the drummer from Dodgy could use it onstage for a T In The Park the gig, because he didn't have one of his own despite being the drummer for a rock band. Needless to say, the drummer was such a fat fuck that he BROKE the stool and it was returned to me covered in mud and smelling of sweat.
Lessons learned: 1) Dodgy are not to be trusted 2) T In The Park is muddy |

efestivals is normaly pretty shit hot with its festival lineups and they say nothing about SY anywhere this summer. T has got British Sea Power, Aphex Twin and Seasick Steve though so it might be worth the mud and that fat welsh bloke off of T4 and i bet they've got the fucking fratelis too. But yeah, Seasick Steve *smiley thing*
