Hmm.
This sounds suspiciously like a shitty washed-up industrial band that had one decent song in the early 90's. Weird. They still have fans? |

he says hes releasing this one as a thankyou to fans, its gonna be 100 percent free. i think he feels liberated by the ability to release his own music through the internet, hes been more prolific these past few years than his entire career, but hes also made the shittiest music ever, win some lose some i suppose.

Actually that may sound foolish but I liked Year Zero more than anything else he has done - though I haven't heard everything everything. But I really enjoy that apocalyptic conspiration atmosphere on Year Zero. So I'm looking forward for this one - I actually signed up hours ago but still haven't received this fucking mail =X

yes, thats because NIN since its inception has been industrial for pussies who cant handle the likes of Einsturnzende Nebauten or Throbbing Gristle, but trent has still made some cool songs, such as:
head like a hole sanctified the only time sin help me i am in hell the perfect drug happiness in slavery mr self destruct somewhat damaged the day the world went away the frail even deeper into the void his new stuff is bitchy new wave, and trent reznor's lyrics are AWFULLLLL, i cant believe he used to get props for songwriting abilities.

He seems to be recycling ideas a lot lately musically. This stuff's not really bad, it's just...kinda there.
I like bitchy new wave, but yeah the lyrics need work. I think that's why I enjoyed Ghosts more than anything else he's done lately. |

I think Trent peaked with "Downward Spiral". Nothing he's put out since has lived up to that album. I don't think he's trying to go the same route as that, or try to do a album as atmpsherpically dark as that album, but he hasn't really been able to do anything as intresting either.

I liked Year Zero more than most NIN fans. Though TDS is still my favourite NIN album.
