A few years back I was making some garlic bread sticks on a baking sone that had metal handles. When the bread was finished cooking in the oven for 20 minutes on 450 degrees, I grabbed some pot-holders and pulled the bread out of the oven. I set the baking stone down on the stove range and put the pot-holders down. Without even thinking, I turned around and grabbed the metal handle of the baking stone sans pot holders and got second degree burns on the palms of my hands. I went to the hospital where they wrapped my hands in guaze and gave me some mild painkillers and some sort of balm that I had to apply to my burned hands twice a day. The burns lasted for over two weeks. It felt horrible.

Also, when I was a baby/toddeler, my mother spilled some hot tea somewhere on my body. I don't know where, but I got burned pretty badly, I guess.
I think she did it on purpose.

when I was burger king when I was very little, my mom spilled hot coffee down the back of my head and back. I had a huge scar down my back but its pretty well gone now.

I used to burn myself frequently--I somehow can't remember that solder is hot.
One real bad burn didn't leave a scar. On my bike trip across the country we were camping in Colorado Springs and someone had some dope. The combo of not smoking in months and the altitude hit me pretty hard. I decided it would be a good idea to close a burning candle lantern with my thumb. That hurt like a MFer.

I was making some costumes for my band and I got quite a bit of molten glue gun glue on my thigh (I was wearing shorts). Cause I didn't want to jump up and ruin my work I had to wait til I'd finished the bit I was on before dealing with it. Picking glue out of a burn is not pleasant.

just the other day, wife took out huge pot from oven w/ roast beef in it and I didn't know... I grabbed the handle to open it and it felt like electricity was gripping my to it..... fucking hurt, and blistered.
I've had plenty of really bad sunburns I've had plenty of roach burns on my lips once we were making a huge pile of things to burn in a parking lot.... poured tons of gas all over it and made a gas trail away to light it. when I lit the gas there was a humongous vapor poof that singed most of my hair. luckily I was wearing a hat. it's all trivial and humorous compared to my friend Dan Caro (I mentioned before) who was burned as a toddler. he has no hands and severely scarred all over his body
