I never really listened much to slowdive, but a guy on Soulseek had "Just For A Day' and I thought I'd try it out. I really like it, and I could help noticing that Brand New's album "The Devil And God Are Raging Inside Me" had a similar feel, albeit updated to a more modern sound. Anyone know what I mean?

While I've always reserved a spot for the pop-punk that got me through my teen years (MxPx, Nofx, Ataris, etc, etc) I can see why people wouldn't like it. And while Brand New did have that sound, they have evolved, a lot I might add, considering they did it over the span of 3 albums.

Yeah. Well, like em or not, anybody who has heard both albums may see a similarity. Just kinda makes you wonder if they got into some slowdive at some point.
