I have, and love, the moon & antartica and Sad Sappy Sucker. Four-Fingered Fisherman is, perhaps, one of the greatest songs ever. much too short though, but the chorus is just fantastic. my plan was to buy them all (the local store had them all for cheap) but then said store closed. now the only store here only has tm&a and good news...

Daddylikes, I love Ugly Casanova as well. I don't care for Good News that much but it's alright. The Good Times Are Killing Me is a wonderful track.

I love about half of Good News, including "Float On". The first 4 or 5 tracks are really good, and then the rest is crud and then "The Good Times Are Killing Me" is fucking sweet. Ugly Casanova is just fucking amazing, and their live show was just as damn good. |

I'm glad i got to listen to this band before i'd heard a single word about them. my boyfriend of the time picked up "This is a long drive..." late 1999 and we both fell in love with it. i have a very special place in my heart for that band's album . i saw them live not soon after, and it was okay .
ive since heard a couple of their cds and can appreciate their consistent style but overall they're not a favorite, no . i really hate when anything in the world gets a lot of hype - it really affects how i pick up on the group in the first place . i get into things way better through accident, where first hearing a band is as near a cherry-popping experience as possible . ive gotten into a lot of bands though that were hugely popular for a time but i subconsciously wait until the hype has died down and somehow 'accidentally' run into something and end up then hating it or loving it . i dont know . |

they've got some decent songs, i wouldn't say they were marvelous or anything. definitely overrated by indie kids. that song "a Different City" or whatever it's called is fucking great. I saw them live at ATP a coupla years ago, they were ok. I kept screaming a Different City in between songs to no avail.
