THINKING PLAGUE "IN THIS LIFE" Reccomended Records, 1989 Unbelievable avant progressive rock with clear free jazz, punk, tribal, noise, minimal synth, and no wave parts thrown in for good measure. Strangely, it's all still pretty accessible and extremely well-recorded. Featured a very very emotionalless singer. Needs to be listened to about 10 times to fully "get". Beautiful and kind of... depressing. Not 500 time changes a second. Every change matters. For fans of Henry Cow, 5uu's, U-Totem, Cerberus Shoal. Easily one of the best albums I've ever heard. |

any place on the intranets where I can let my ears taste this? never heard of it. I do not really enjoy Henry Cow though.

www.last.fm/music/Thinking+Plague should have a song, or try myspace, I bet there's a fan page.
Thanks Byron! |

I love Thinking Plague but I haven't heard this album (can't find it in stores either). A History of Madness is one of my favorite albums of all time. And Bob Drake can do no wrong.

very good band, a good band to listen to for all the punk kids who think all prog rock is overindulgent bullshit. i like 'in extremis' better.
