spking about squier gtrs I have to say I have two of them, both completely modified. a strat affinity and a jagmaster. at the end I think they are playable gtrs cause the quite good necks but they are quite shitty cause the body so I use them as 'throw gtrs' or something like that! in this way they work very fine!
to play beautiful sounds I'm using a Teisco TG'65 that has a good body and microphonic pickups but then I play rarely beautiful sounds. |

The only thing that I really like about squier neck's is that they're smooth and they're easy to move on. But if it's a bolt on, generally there's not as much sound going through the neck itself; just the strings. You can hear a difference between bolt on and glued necks. And true, the squier's body is crap. |

yes I'm agree about the neck, and even the body doesnt sound good. my jagmaster's body sounds just in the middle, near the neck, it's for this reason that I abuse it |

Hey Alex!! That picture of the Teisco you posted..... I got one EXACTLY like that about 2 months ago for $30 in a pawn shop. That is show weird, when I posted about it on the board, I used the exact same picture to describe it. The only difference is the headstock on mine is sunburst, not plain.

I just love my guitar, that's all.
I wish I could find a pic like this that has the actual Vibrato. I just love the way the Vibrato makes a Mustang look.

Unless I was living the high life, I'd never spend much more than 500-600 dollars on a guitar.

Yeah, Travis Bean's are getting expensive.. you might want to check out TravisBeanGuitars.com Classifieds page for current Bean auctions.. sometimes you can get lucky (I did) and get one for a good price. As another option (and less expensive), you could check out the Electrical Guitar Company (they have 'regular site' but can't find it). This guy has reverse engineerd Travis Bean pickups and they sound great. I also picked up a Electrical Standard. The neck is modeled after a Veleno.. which takes some getting use to, but you can have him model it after a Bean. He makes crazy custom guitars too.. including Baritones. hanji |
