Anyone on the board listen to this band? For some reason I have a liking for music that is ska related (don't ask, I don't know either).

I used to have some of that back in middle school. Used to love ska and ska/punk stuff, such as OpIvy, Rancid, Bosstones, Mustard Plug, all that...
Don't really care for it much now, but it did turn me on to old school ska like the Skatalites and Laurel Aitken as well as the 2-Tone bands, most of whom I'll still listen to. |

I'm not a fan of ska, with the exception of Operation Ivy.

I was so into them as a young skater...they had a ton of their songs in the old H-Street videos.
Sure, they're ska esque, but light years better than some of the garbage that was influenced by them. |

Nah, I don't. I own some Rancid albums from back in the day but can't see myself listening to them these days. I was watching a punk special and it had all these great bands on it and then they spoke about nowdays shit like Rancid, Sum 41, and Blink 182, and it was just disgusting compared to them other bands. Somewhere along the lines these bands lost the point and still continued calling themselves "punk".

Op Ivy are great. I even like early rancid. Also the new Tim Armstrong solo stuff is great too. As for ska punk, I love some of it. If less than jake hadn't turned shit, they would be one of my favourite bands probably.
