As it happens, when I went to the shops to buy a French stick I discovered that the Eat Skull record was waiting on the doormat for me along with the new Sic Alps record (both only cdr promos, alas). Having listened to them both once or twice each, as is possible with them both being sub 30 minutes, my initial impression is that they are both tops but the Sic Alps record is the toppermost....so far.

which sic alps record? i keep reading about how awesome trhey are but i've been underwhelmed by the hanful of songs i've heard by them

Well they had Rich Johnston of Psychedelic Horsehit on drums, who's great at them. They seem like one of those bands that gets better and better the more booze and drugs they consume. And they do have quite the thirst/appetite for them.
