Playing this LP now. Recording to cassette tape. Here's a clue for you all: Many boots recorded in the 60s and 70s were not recorded or mastered by audiophiles. Many, like this one, were either recorded or mastered at the wrong speed, and usually they sound too fast. If the songs sound considerably faster than their studio album counterparts, there's a good chance the recording is off--a good argument for owning a turntable with adjustable pitch. I went down about 2.5 notches (slower, halfway between 4 and 6 on the upper part of the slider) on my Technics SL-1200 and it's perfect.

I had to do this to an old Hendrix boot LP I found last summer too.
