The Telescopes - 7th# Disaster (EP)

Hot on the heels of Loop a couple of posts ago comes more sonic terrorism from the late Eighties in the shape of The Telescopes. Highly regarded at the time and continuing a line of noise that began with The Jesus And Mary Chain, The Telescopes came into being in 1988 centred around singer Stephen Lawrie's bizarre musical influences - one interview has him citing "environmental sounds......sitting in the airing cupboard with my eyes closed" as an inspiration.

Although a large portion of The Telescopes back catalogue has been reissued on CD and they reformed in 2001/2002 - releasing sounds via Double Agent Records - I have been unable to find '7th# Disaster' on any of the compilations or otherwise.

So, for your pleasure, here it is.

Stephen Lawrie - Vocals And Acoustic Guitars
Joanna Doran - Backing Vocals And Rhythm Guitars
David Fitzgerald - Lead Guitars
Robert Brookes - Bass Guitars
Domimic Dillon - Drums And Percussion
