It's hard to do this. What I often think cheers me up, other people find depressing. It's so subjective.

That said, I know how you feel. My worst days are when I've been out and about and realize how ignorant and backward this hick town is where I'm forced to live, and I search and search in my collection for something that feels "cleansing" and "uplifting" and even escapist--something that reassures me I'm not really like all of "them" out there.
