I think you are missing out, they've been mentioned quite a bit (mainly by me, but hey!)... haha... but yeah, I agree, way better than Slint. I definitely see the similarities (very quiet verses that erupt into loud parts, weird awkward dynamic shifts and time signature changes, Kentucky, occassional odd bouts of guitar playing, constant use of harmonics)... but Rodan are way, uh, "harder" in parts. And better.

There's a 10+ minute song on their only album that is breathtaking.

Also love the romantic, quiet opening of that album. Just beautiful.

Great band. I'm gonna do a classic albums post on them eventually.
