im listening to all my magma vinyl; udu wudu, mekanik destructive komandoh, and K.A.

i know thats not a lot, but i feel extraordinarily lucky to own these. magma is real hard to find for decent prices in the states, and i gota killer deal on these on ebay. i only own two others cds by them, and then all their stuff, and vander's stuff, downloaded.

a small segment of thought concerning magma;
i have to nominate magma for the most innovative, and maybe just straight up craziest band of all time. its simultaneously avant garde and strange, but sort of in a wagnerian manner, very grandiose. and theyre still a rock band, and they still rock. they kind of have a religioisity about them, like they induce worship among thier listeners, their music is undeniably powerful. there literally is NOTHING that sounds like it. some people call it "prog rock", but thats just because you cant classify these guys as anything, and prog works cuz those duded are generally just extremly gifted rock bands, which magma is. but you never get thes sense that magma is wanking like other prog bands. even when theyre spitting out big band jazz simultaneously with operatic chorus sections and chanted backing vocals. fuck, such an amazing band.
