you dont need to use such extreme measures
most vegans i've met are pencilneck weaklings anyway, ha haha. frequent anemia sufferers. most. there are vegan olympic athletes, but some people think of a diet of frenchfries as "vegan".
seriously, you can do small steps. start by adding fruits & vegetables to your diet-- if you dont buy organic, make sure you wash them well to remove all pesticide residues-- i know that sounds paranoid but eh... worth the trouble.
