Well, as I said, I definitely don't like Audition or the MOH episode. Ichi's pretty good I guess. I'm just saying that all of his work is completely different. That's one reason I respect him. I'm a fan of his but even I am not going to pretend he's that great of a director.

I tend to prefer his more subdued, subtle works like Dead or Alive 2 and some of his other Yakuza films because they have a very quiet, childlike innocence with bursts of violence. Though really the main reason I like them is because they remind me of Takeshi Kitano.

I'd definitely check out HAPPINESS OF THE KATAKURIS and VISITOR Q, which is hilarious... almost in a Bloodsucking-Freaks-kind-of-way at times in its absurdity!
