This just goes to illustrate further how the nme gets worse and worse ever year

The nme's top 50 rock gods

1. Kurt Cobain
2. Pete Doherty
3. Morrissey
4. Liam Gallagher
5. Carl Barat
6. Thom Yorke
7. Noel Gallagher
8. David Bowie
9. Ian Brown
10. Ian Curtis
11. Richey Edwards
12. Jack White
13. Joe Strummer
14. Matt Bellamy
15. Axl Rose
16. Bob Dylan
17. Julian Casablancas
18. John Lennon
19. Elliott Smith
20. Alex Kapranos
21. David Gedge
22. Jimi Hendrix
23. Billy Corgan
24. Bono
25. Alex Turner
26. Dave Grohl
27. Johnny Marr
28. Courtney Love
29. Jarvis Cocker
30. Johnny Rotten
31. Marc Bolan
32. Neil Young
33. Kim Deal
34. Shaun Ryder
35. Antony Hegarty
36. Syd Barrett
37. Elvis Presley
38. Billie Joe Armstrong
39. Marvin Gaye
40. Brian Wilson
41. Paul McCartney
42. Bruce Springsteen
43. Frank Black
44. Iggy Pop
45. Jimmy Page
46. Johnny Cash
47. Keith Richards
48. Patti Smith
49. Prince
50. Shane MacGowan

2. pete docherty (WHAT HAS THAT CUNT EVER DONE APART FROM BE A USELESS JUNKIE?! Jimi Hendrix is 22. how fucked up is that?)
5. carl barat (over hyped kinks wannabe)
11. Richey edwards (cus he disappeared?)
14. matt bellamy (muse only have 1 good album, the first one)
21. David Gedge (surprise that he got into an nme poll considering wedding present aren't exactly hip but how is he better than hendrix?)
22. Hendrix (how is he not number one? one of the greatest innovators and creaters of music of all time)
38. billie joe armstrong (how does he beat mccartney and iggy pop?)
39. Marvin Gaye (hardly known for headbanging and moshing)

I don't agree with all of these but i can see why some of them are where they are. The nme is truly tragic these days. Totally style over substance. When i realised pete docherty wasn't #1 i would have assumed it would have been an arctic monkey or something instead. This magazine is SHITE, but you all knew that already
