I would like to know what he thinks of current Fall, seeing as they played a couple of gigs together way back when, and seeing as the Fall are better now than they were then, and the Buzzcocks are living off a couple of hits they had some time 20-odd years ago.
Perhaps ask him if he still lives in Manchester as well, I suspect he'll open up if you ask him about his background, more so than if you just ask, "What guitar did you use on..." or, "What inspired [insert lyric x]"
