all the talk of yes has made me conjur some more thoughts here we go:
1. mid 70's fusion(return to forever,mahavishnu orchestra,john mclaughlin)
was/is extremely influencial and often overlooked by many in the music scene.
2. Hendrix's later recording were much better than his first few. Had he not died he would have cut quite a few records on stax records and helped the american funk movement significantly, actually he did that anyways, but not many people realize it, seeing as they dont listen to any of his demo's or rarities from 69/70.
3. Malcom Mclaren was a thieving bastard. He left the USA with this image of Richard Hell ingrained in his head and sold to kids in the UK. This did not help out the punk scene...it ultimately led to its demise(sex pistols). He made punk a mainstram, commercially viably product to market. Had he not, it would stayed as a bohemian NY scene for quite a while longer. Unpopular opinion or maybe a fact.........
