it seems to me that a lot of people put musicians up on a pedestal, never taking into account that they're people, not prophets. when people try to emulate their favorite musician or whoever, we get crap "scenes" and genres like emo and hair metal. and who the fuck wants that? i want to be able to turn on my car radio and know who i'm listening to, which is impossible when every band sounds the same.
