I don't like the idea of a 'most underrated', but I think that Datblygu are overlooked far too often. Schnittke doesn't get the kudos he deserves, mainly because he doesn't sit comfortably in the general notions of 20th century 'classical' music. I'm in love with the Bragod CD I got, a few tracks of which I upped in the world music thread. On the Japanese front, in a world of wrongly over-looked peeps, Kazuo Imai and Shuji Inaba (the latter being a PSF artist, the former a student of Masayuki Takayanagi) don't get mentioned enough, even by people who're into that sort of thing.

I might come back here with a list of un-signed bands for the collective interest, but then again I might not.
